Australia’s fastest growing fitness franchise, Body Fit Training (BFT), has appointed David Aitchison as CEO of BFT APAC.

This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for BFT in the APAC region. David will bring a focused and fresh lens to BFT, embedding, enhancing and developing the existing business.

BFT offers a community-based functional training program including 50 minute progressive cardio and strength-based classes across 13 workout programs designed to achieve the unique health goals of its members. BFT utilises scientifically proven training techniques aimed to reduce fat and create lean muscle through a variety of training sessions overseen by highly accredited coaches in a dynamic group environment.

Under the purposeful direction of current co-CEO’s Cameron Falloon and Richard Burnet, BFT has had incredible growth and success since the brands inception. Across the past 4+ years, the brand has hit significant milestones including the sale of 300 franchises, opening 192 studios, launching a world first bespoke heart rate system and winning 2021 APAC Franchise of the Year.

David’s appointment to the CEO role allows Cameron and Richard to shift their attention and focus on new market growth. Cam Falloon says:

David has more than 25 years experience in the Fitness industry – including over 18 years in Senior and Executive Management positions. In September 2021, David was appointed the role of General Manager Club Operations of both Fitness First and Goodlife. During David’s time at Fitness First and Goodlife, he was part of the senior team who successfully managed the businesses through the Covid world of club Management.

ABOUT DAVE AITCHISON

Starting his career in fitness, as a personal trainer in one of Melbourne’s first PT studios and from there moved to a franchise owner with Genesis Fitness Clubs. After a successful launch of his first commercial health club in Karingal Victoria, he co founded Fenix Fitness Clubs, a brand that over the next 4 years grew to 10 clubs across Australia under a range of ownership structures including franchisee, PE and eventually sold to ASX Ardent Leisure under the Goodlife brand. During this time, David held roles ranging from franchisee, National Operations Manager and National Business Development Manager.

In 2017, David was appointed General Manager of Fitness First Australia, overseeing 61 clubs nationally, 2500 staff and 800+ personal trainers. The success of his performance lead to a change in role in September 2021, where he was appointed General Manager Club Operations of both Fitness First and Goodlife, doubling his portfolio of clubs and staff.
