Providing industry-leading best practices to the Armadale community has been the driving force behind Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre’s Quality Accreditation with peak industry association Fitness Australia.

Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre’s Coordinator Mick Harkin said the community facility was always focused on the high level of service, professionalism and safety it provided to everyone.

Mr Harkin said:

“We are a place for the local community to exercise and socialise in a safe and friendly environment. We are continually striving for excellence in everything we do, and the Quality Accreditation with Fitness Australia takes us one step closer to achieving that.”

“The accreditation means a lot to us as it benchmarks us against other industry-leading businesses. Achieving the accreditation is important but what is more important to us is continuing to exceed what is required to maintain our accreditation.

“Putting the community first helps us ensure we have the best facility, are offering the best training options and providing a safe environment, which is even more important now due to the strict COVID-safe requirements we have implemented.

Supported by the Fitness Industry National Quality Framework’s six pillars, Fitness Australia’s Quality Accreditation program leads businesses through an accreditation process, which includes multiple modules designed to assess, identify and assist businesses in reaching the industry framework.

Fitness Australia CEO Barrie Elvish said the Quality Accreditation was developed to drive a higher standard of service delivery and provide greater consumer confidence within the fitness industry.

Mr Elvish said:

“It’s fantastic to see Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre achieve their Quality Accreditation. It is a testament to their commitment to their local community.”

“To ensure the highest standards are met, the program takes a multilayered approach to reviewing and assessing each business.  This includes a self-assessment, customer feedback and the involvement of an independent quality assessment team who provide constructive feedback on making improvements.

“Fitness Australia is committed to driving a higher level of service excellence across the board. Particularly as we recover from COVID-19, it is important we focus on steps to improve outdated perceptions about the fitness industry.”
