About Dan and Mark:

Dan Mikeska is the author of the Medical Fitness Specialist course, and owner of the Medical Exercise Academy which specializes in connecting fitness, education, and medicine. He has a master’s degree in Human Movement and a doctorate in Health Science, and teaches undergrad and graduate exercise science classes for A. T. Still University and American Public University System. Dr. Mikeska holds numerous certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, and Exercise is Medicine. He became interested in fitness as a means to improve in martial arts, and he holds belts or instructor ranks in Jeet Kune Do Concepts, Combat Submission Wrestling, American Sport Karate, and is a Universal and United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee. He is on the Medical Exercise Review Board for the Cancer Exercise Training Institute as well as the Industry Advisory Council for American Public University System’s Sports and Health Science program. As a bestselling author, he has published articles on metabolic conditioning programs for martial artists, the scope of practice for fitness trainers, and the state of online education and medical exercise, as well as the Clinical Exercise Specialist Manual: A Fitness Professional’s Guide to Exercise and Chronic Disease, accordingly, he is recognized as one of the top educators on fitness and chronic disease.
