The last installment of the virtual 2020 Australian Fitness Awards took place this morning with the Personal Trainer of the Year and Lorna Jane’s Inspirational Woman of the Year award winners being announced.

Local Campbelltown PT Awarded Personal Trainer of the Year at the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards

The second last instalment of the 2020 virtual Australian Fitness Awards took place today with local Campbelltown personal trainer, Daniel Munro from Fit n Fast Gym, announced as the national winner of the Personal Trainer of the Year award, sponsored by Lorna Jane.

Held by the nation’s peak fitness industry body, Fitness Australia, the Awards recognise and celebrate individuals, businesses and community groups dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Australians by providing exceptional programs and high-quality professional services.

The annual event is the only national awards program dedicated to the fitness industry and received a record 2,000 nominations across eleven categories for individuals, businesses and community groups.

Sponsored by Lorna Jane the coveted Personal Trainer of the Year Award aims to recognise trainers who consistently deliver high-quality, safe and nurturing services to their clients and who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in their community through fitness.

Daniel Munro, a sole trading personal trainer at Campbelltown’s Fit n Fast Gym has been recognised for his passion, dedication and commitment to delivering exceptional training services to his clients, as well as his ability to adapt his teaching methods to suit his client’s needs and abilities.

Testament to Daniel’s thorough knowledge and dedication to health and fitness, in the last three months alone, Daniel has aided four clients in significantly reducing their blood pressure levels resulting in their GP’s either reducing or taking them off treatment medication all together.

Daniel’s experience and adaptability has seen him deliver quality personal training services to clients ranging in age and fitness levels, including children with disabilities.

With an extensive history in martial arts and boxing, Daniel is known for delivering group fitness classes incorporating his skills of martial arts. To further his skills as a personal trainer, Daniel is committed to his professional development and has completed 67 CEC points in the last two years, along with other upskilling courses.

Winner of the Inaugural Lorna Jane Inspirational Woman of the Year Award announced today at the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards

The last instalment of the 2020 virtual Australian Fitness Awards took place today with South Australian local personal trainer, Emma Brown announced as the national winner of the inaugural Lorna Jane Inspirational Woman of the Year Award.

Activewear brand Lorna Jane Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Lorna Jane Clarkson says this award represents their brands mission to empower women to live a life that they love through active living.

Lorna said:

“I think it’s important to celebrate achievements and I’m particularly passionate about celebrating women’s achievements. Along with our commitment to celebrating inspirational women year-round and previous awards we have held, I am thrilled that the team and I at Lorna Jane have been able to create this new award as yet another way to celebrate inspirational woman in the fitness industry.”

“What was particularly impressive was that there were so many worthy candidates which made it extremely difficult to choose just one winner.”

Award recipient Emma Brown is the Personal Training Manager at The Lodge Fitness Centre in Salisbury East and has been recognised for her outstanding dedication to her client’s that sees her going above and beyond to support them during their health and fitness journey.

“What I loved about Emma’s story is her passion to go beyond just the physical with her coaching. She is truly passionate about what she does – giving her clients a total life approach to health and wellbeing.” 

Emma prides herself on being more than just a personal trainer to her clients, she builds a friendship with each client and makes an effort to get to know them beyond their physical needs, to be able to motivate and support them to achieve their goals.

Emma’s commitment to her clients and their fitness journey, often sees her checking in with them in between sessions, providing workout plans that they can do on their own and even training side-by-side them on days that she is not providing personal training services.

Fitness Australia CEO, Barrie Elvish, congratulated the Australian Fitness Award winners and said the award recipients’ stories of commitment and excellence were outstanding.

Mr Elvish said:

“Every Award winner has demonstrated the upmost dedication to the health and wellbeing of their communities through consistently delivering high quality services in a professional and safe manner.”

An expert panel, consisting of a diverse group of industry representatives, conducted a thorough assessment of each finalist across a range of areas including professionalism, customer care, knowledge and skills, safety, and leadership to select the category winners.
