The Australian based UBX are already the 2nd largest boxing franchise in the world, with 90 clubs across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The deal with Empowered Brands paves the way for them to launch in the UK and Ireland with up to 250 new sites being developed.

UBX was co-founded in 2016 by fitness and tech entrepreneur Tim West and four-time boxing world champion Danny Green.

CEO Michael Jordan. Empowered Brands already has 100 franchised fitness clubs operating across UK, Spain and the Middle East (Bahrain) after it acquired the énergie Fitness Group in 2020 said:

Chair of Empowered Brands, Pietro Nicholls, said the value of the UK/Ireland UBX deal could exceed £50m over the next five years in terms of the amount backer RM Funds is prepared to invest in franchise funding, systems, technology and infrastructure. This deal continues their aspiration to be the leading curator of fitness and health brands in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
