A strong focus on innovation and Back in Motion Health Group franchise partners’ success has seen founder Jason T Smith recognised as one of Australia’s top franchising executives.
The prestigious Top 30 Franchise Executives report recognises the biggest and brightest talents in Australia’s franchising industry and are based on Best Practice, Innovation, Franchise Citizenship, Industry Impact, Leadership and Professional Development.
Jason has been ranked 2nd in Australia for 2019.
Since opening the first Back In Motion practice in his Wantirna (VIC) home nineteen years ago, Jason’s leadership has evolved the network into the largest allied health group in the ANZ region and fastest growing physiotherapy network in Australia.
Jason says culture and strategy are the two critical factors which drive continued success for the group.
“Our culture emphasises free speech, shared decision making, peer accountability and heightened collaboration. The result is an agile high performing team, and franchisees can engage in real time with new ideas through our innovation portal,” says Jason. “We work closely with our franchisees to provide them with the tools they need to optimise the success of their business.”
Over the last 12 months Back In Motion has made significant investments in technology and support for franchisees. All practices are benefiting from online dashboards to optimise business analytics while a revitalised franchisee coaching program is driving higher performance at the local level.
As a social entrepreneur, Jason founded the SOS Health Foundation in 2009 to help close the gap in health outcomes in disadvantaged indigenous communities.
“The SOS Health Foundation deploys about 80 volunteer physiotherapists a year on FIFO health outreach missions and full year secondments into homeland communities. I’m proud to say the result is a community-minded network who care deeply about others in need,” says Jason.
